Custom glyph set developed for The World Within: Maku Azu, exploring how an existing typographic identity could grow into a complete and scalable visual language.
Created following the 2024 Venice Biennale exhibition, the project studies how consistent design systems can evolve while preserving their underlying logic.
Design
The project analyzed the original glyph language to identify its geometric rules, proportions, and visual rules.
New characters were developed within those constraints, producing additions that integrate seamlessly with the existing identity while remaining distinct and functional.
Outcome
- Expanded glyph alphabet
- Scalable typographic language
- Cohesive additions to an existing identity
