GEMS is a brand identity and interface concept for an app centered on discovering small businesses, events, and local experiences.
The project explores how a bold visual system can extend into UI—using color, shape, and motion to create a playful, exploratory experience rather than a purely functional one.
Design
The identity is built around a vibrant color palette, geometric forms, and expressive typography. These elements function as both branding assets and interface components, allowing the system to scale across screens while maintaining a strong visual voice.
Outcome
A complete visual identity system including color, type, and graphic language
A series of mobile UI screens demonstrating system application

UI Application
The visual system is translated into a series of mobile interface screens, including discovery, saved collections, and event tracking.
Color and form are used to guide navigation and create hierarchy, while repeated components establish consistency across the experience. The interface prioritizes engagement and personality over neutrality, reinforcing the brand at every interaction point.

Homepage
A modular landing screen that surfaces key content through stacked components. The layout prioritizes density and contrast, allowing multiple entry points into the app while reinforcing a sense of immediacy and discovery.
Weekly Recap
A time-based view that highlights past events and missed opportunities. Cards and color-coded elements create a sense of continuity, encouraging users to revisit and re-engage with content.
Discover
A visually driven browsing experience built on grid variation and layered imagery. Categories are expressed through color and form, allowing users to navigate intuitively while maintaining a sense of exploration.
Posters
A series of campaign posters translates the GEMS identity into physical space.
The same system of color, shape, and typography is reconfigured into graphic compositions that prioritize visibility, repetition, and variation.
These outputs reinforce the brand beyond the app, positioning GEMS as a discoverable presence within the environments it promotes.
